Mobile Computing at the ISPO MUNICH 2012

Both health and mobile computing are the leading themes during this year’s ISPO in Munich. Thanks to our mobile terminal scanners, we and our customers take a look back at 10 years of experience with mobile devices in the ski rental sector. For that reason, we could not go without a fitting fair novelty in Munich. And so the response to our recently released rentmaxx Z-Value App for iPhone^® was appropriately big. Incidentally, the new app also takes care of the health aspect by providing a correctly set ski binding.

rentmaxx Z-Value for  iPhone^® and iPod touch^®

The rentmaxx Z-Value app for iPhone and iPod touch is now available free of charge in the App Store℠. Our new app lets you easily calculate the initial setting value (Z-Value) for a ski binding using the weight method (ISO 11088). 

Body height ranges can be input in centimetres or feet. Body weight ranges can be input in kilograms, pounds, or stones.

Hotel registration is a new variant of rentmaxx online booking. The entire registration process is optimised. Hotel guests can check-in remotely for ski and snowboard rental from the comfort of partner hotels' reception.

This relies on the convenience of compact tablet PCs, such as the iPad^®. This solution is based entirely online, requiring only a tablet computer and internet access via WLAN or a mobile network.

New partnership between Häfele Depot Lock Systems and digiCOM rentmaxx on a new software interface development jointly by both firms. With this breakthrough, it's now possible to rent out depot lockers in a ski depot equipped with the Häfele depot lock system, all using the simple rentmaxx user interface.

Depot lockers can be assigned either automatically or manually by a worker at the cash desk. Rental times can be extended or cut short at any time. The interface also allows easy assignment of multiple ski passes to one locker, or one ski pass to multiple lockers.

The first location using the interface is the ski depot at the Intersport Strasser ski shop at the Rosenalm Lift (Zillertal Arena in Austria) - starting in December 2011.

Just in time for the start into the new 11/12 winter season, we have completely reengineered the rentmaxx online booking system. Many details in the appearance of the web application have been further improved. As of now, the new Style Active supplements the existing five styles.

The booking view for rental equipment has been completely remodeled and offers the user a totally new service experience. Trendy avatars give the booking a “face” and make orientation easier.

With the new selection option for supplemental equipment at registration, these items can be indicated right at category selection. When choosing the ski category, a customer can submit an additional request for ski shoes or a helmet at the same time.

Following yet another successful winter season for rentmaxx online booking with thousands of online rentals processed, we are treating our web solution to two new styles.

With the Dusk style, we are introducing an interface which will be seamlessly integrated with the websites of many rental stations. When renting out summer articles, you are sure to provide the right mood during the warm time of the year.

The Winter style is a totally different story, prescribed for the cold season. Here an absolute wintery feeling emerges. An online booking must provide winter sports enthusiasts with the right ambience.

At the ISPO 2011 in Munich, we will present a completely reworked version of our digiCOM rentmaxx check-in software for electronic customer registration at self-service terminals.

Absolute highlights are the new user interface, search function for registered customers and weight and size entry in stones, pounds and feet.

As of December 2010, digiCOM rentmaxx also imports data from the Sport 2000 booking system via its import interface. This includes, among others, the booking portals of Sport 2000 rent, ALPINRESORTS.COM and SNOWELL.

Further processing and use of this booking data is done analogically to data from digiCOM rentmaxx online booking. In doing so, bookings made at various online shops can be easily processed thanks to a uniform workflow. 

For many years now, we have been gaining experience in the area of web design and web development. We now can also offer our customers attractive and modern internet presence for today’s World Wide Web.

We work with an efficient Content Management System (CMS). Current technologies such as AJAX, Flash Animation and HTML5 are no strangers to us.

We have just published the new version of digiCOM rentmaxx online booking. The web interface and operation has been completely reworked. Greater importance was placed on support for all standard internet browsers.
